Hungarian Curly Coat

The Hungarian Curly Coat (Red Mangalitsa) was developed in Southeast Europe (Serbia, Croatia, Hungary and Romania) in the middle of the 19th century. Characteristics: large-framed fat-type hog with greyish-black skin, undemanding, resistant to cold, tolerant of heat. Piglets are born with striped skin (high component of wild-type hog traits). Height: 75 to 85 cm (2'6" to 2'9"). Maximum weight: 250 kg (40 st). Red List of Threatened Species.
