The Swallow-Bellied Mangalitsa was developed in the middle of the 19th century in Southeast Europe (Serbia, Croatia, Hungary and Romania). Characteristics: undemanding in diet, resistant to weather and diseases, late maturity, low fertility (one litter with 1 to 7 piglets per year). Piglets are born with striped skin (high component of wild-type hog traits). Height: 70 to 85 cm (2'4" to 2'9"). Maximum weight: 180 kg (28 st). Red List of Threatened Species.
